Our home has a truly spectacular view! We hope that you will have as much fun and as many good memories as we do in this magical place. It captures both beauty and simplicity. Mozambique is a third world country, this at times requires some navigation, nothing you cant take in your stride. We have tried our best to ensure your accommodation in our home makes the transistion as simple as possible. Everyone on site is here to help you.

The house is situated on top of a dune. Parking for the house is at the top parking area. Please check in at the main reception parking first, and the team there will show you how to get to the top parking. There are a few stairs to access the unit.

There is walkway that leads down to the main beach access gate.

Electricity is prepaid. Should you require extra power, (Check the meter outside the front door to make sure its delpeted and not a power outage) ,you can easily get more. Pop a picture of the meter number on your phone. Vouchers are available at the petrol station in town. Show them the picture so they can allocate the voucher to that unit. It’s easy to load, but if you need help, ask any of the staff, they will be happy to help.

Kitchen :

A kitchen nook to prepare or eat meals, with seating for 6 people. A stove, microwave, oven, double door fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and all general cutlery and crockery for 8 people.

There is a water filter fitted for uses such as boiling the kettle and cooking food. Bottled water for consumption is highly recommend. 

There is an Nespresso machine but you will need to bring your own pods.

There is an additional large fridge in the lounge for your drinks, and other requirements.

There is a washing machine that you are welcome to use. Please bring washing powder or buy in town should you want to use it.

The Deck :

A partially covered deck and blinds, with awesome views, overlook Ponta do Ouro Bay and north towards Malangane. There is a Webber gas braai. Remember open fires are not permitted at all. Table and chairs on the deck for 8 people. There is a small deck by the front door with a table and chairs suitable for 6 people. 

PLEASE NOTE : The outdoor blinds must be kept rolled up if your not at your unit, as the wind can get very strong and this could damage the blinds. If they are damaged, you will be charged.

Lounge :

The lounge has a TV with a google chrome cast linked to the homes wifi. A Wifi router is there for your use, the password is on the back of the router, visit the Vodacom store in town to get a SIM card and data. You will need your passport when you do this. 

There are rechargeable tourches scattered around the house, please keep them plugged in, and as much as you may like them, please leave them when you leave for the next guests.

NB:Free Wifi is not included in your booking and you will need to have your own sim for the router. Please do not reset the router, this makes it difficult for the next guests to use it.

The monkeys in the complex are notorious for taking any food they can. Be sure to keep an eye out while in the unit. When you leave to explore or visit the beach. Close up everything. You have been warned they can leave quite a mess.

Bedrooms :

There are four rooms. All air-conditioned and ceiling fans in each bedroom. The house can sleep 8 people.

Room 1: Double Bed

Room 2: Double Bed

Room 3: Two single beds

Room 4: Two single beds

All the bedrooms have rechargeable bedside lamps. We know you like the cables to charge your phones, but please leave them when you leave, or the lamps wont work for the next guests.

All the rooms have adaptors with various plugs and USB fittings. Again we know they are great, but please leave them in the rooms for the next guests.

Bathrooms:

There are three bathrooms one of which is en suite. 2 have a shower, toilet and basin, the 3rd is a toilet and basin. The unit is on a septic tank, so please don’t flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets. There are no baths in the unit.

Directions:

From the Kosi-Bay border post, follow the tarred road and directions to Ponta. There is a toll gate before the turn to Ponta town. Shortly after the Toll gate, there is a right hand turn toward Ponta. It is well marked.

Once in town drive past the markets until you reach the campsite, pass it on your left. Mar-e-Sol is 500m further along the dirt road.

What to bring with:
– Highly recommend drinking water. You can buy this in town.
NB! NB! Beach Towels. Please don’t take our bath towles down to the beach. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN.
– A MIFI router really comes in handy if you want to be in contact while on the move. Remember there is no WIFI Included (internet access) at the house, you will neeed to get your own sim in town. This sim can then be put in the router at the house if you need to.

Feel free to tip the cleaning staff, there is no set rate… we leave this upto you.

  • There is a R 500.00 Refundable Key deposit upon arrival per house booked – refunded back on departure less any breakages.

 

  • Clients are liable for payment if breakages are more than the R 500.00 key deposit obtained upon arrival. Additional payment is required to be paid in full before departure.

 

Please note that it is important that you report any breakages or problems to reception at the office during your stay at Mar E Sol, so that the problems can be put on the maintenance list for the team to attend to.
